Flavours from around the world at ‘Muscat Eat’
The latest edition of the 'Muscat Eat' food festival will feature several events, theatre performances and entertainment activities in addition to tongue-smacking local and international cuisines from around the world. This year's event will take place from 1 to 3 December and 8 to 12 December next to the Omantel headquarters in Madinat Al Irfan in the capital.
Muscat Eat, the largest of its kind in Oman, will showcase food, entertainment and cultural programmes from the Middle East, Africa, India, Asia, Europe and the Americas, with more than 80 chefs and restaurateurs participating from around the world. The event comes as a part of the Muscat governorate's efforts to expand the festival under the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and offer visitors an opportunity to taste various international cuisine.

The Muscat Eat features renowned Omani chefs and traditional Omani in a festive atmosphere. In addition, an opportunity for visitors to participate in numerous competitions and entertainment, such as skits, cooking competitions, games for children, and musical concerts.
Some notable performances by international artists include 'Jack and the Bean Stock', Tanura, Spanish dance, African acrobatic panthers, Pirates and Princesses show for children, Thai puppets, and British duo shows.
Among the headline performances during the festival is a concert by tribute to cold play and several music shows like Bollywood, Bhangra, hip-hop, Chinese dragons, and Heritage Zaffa shows.

The Muscat Eat already enjoys great popularity and has established itself as one of the most important cultural and entertainment events on the calendar. The last edition of the festival in 2021 saw more than 30,000 visitors from across the Sultanate of Oman. A key event in supporting small and medium enterprises, several players from the sector participated in the Muscat Eat, showcasing various cuisines, cooking demonstrations and mobile food trucks.

Saleh Al Khaifi, Director of Tourism Events, at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, commented, “The Ministry continues to support the Muscat Food Festival under its efforts to boost tourism, as the festival in its previous editions has confirmed its ability to attract thousands of visitors from different regions of the Sultanate of Oman in order to experience traditional and international cuisines and enjoy the cultural and recreational activities."
He added: “The festival is also an important platform to showcase the culture and heritage as it offers visitors the opportunity to taste the most famous traditional flavourful Omani dishes and enjoy the most delicious international cuisine prepared by professional chefs from within/outside the Sultanate of Oman. Moreover, it is a chance to experience Omani hospitality, generosity and traditions. The Muscat Eat also helps promote small and medium enterprises in the hospitality and catering industry, supporting this important sector of the national economy."
