Service Details

The Ministry provides licenses for tour guides to operate in the Sultanate. This license is required to operate as a tour guide in Oman. The service is provided for those wishing to obtain a card to practice the profession of tourist guidance according to categories: General, Specialist & Regional.

Candidate must be Medically fit to apply

Required Documents

    No Criminal Record Certificate (For Omani only).

    Personal Photograph.

  • Documents

    Education Qualification.

    Experience Certificate.

  • Documents

    Certificate of the Training Program for Tourist Guiding from Oman Tourism College.

    Resident Card for Non-Omani

Terms & Conditions

  • T & C

    Abide by the laws, regulations, terms and conditions issued by the Ministry.

    Must be Omani, and age is not less than (18) eighteen years of age, or a foreigner, and no less than A year for twenty-five (25) Gregorian years.

    Must be fully competent, of good conduct, of good reputation, and has never been convicted of a felony or punishment Restricted freedom in a crime involving breach of honour or trust, unless he is rehabilitated.

    Prove physical fitness.

  • T & C

    Must have an appropriate qualification and adequate training in the fields of tourist guidance.

  • T & C

    Fluent in speaking a foreign language in addition to Arabic.

  • T & C

    Pass the test prepared by the Ministry for this purpose.

  • T & C

    The English-language tourist guide is restricted to the Omani tourist guide, and it is not permitted for the guide Foreign Tourist Guidance in this language.

Fees Information

  • General:

    OMR 20 (Omani), OMR 50 (non-Omani).

  • Regional:

    OMR 10 (Omani), OMR 50 (non-Omani).

  • Specialist:

    OMR 10 (Omani), OMR 50 (non-Omani).

Validity Information

  • Omani

    2 years validity, renewable for Omanis.

  • Expat

    1 year validity, renewable for non-Omanis.
